As CLIQInvite was slowly grinding to a halt, Mark and I held a team meeting to discuss how we could recycle our technology in a new market. We had previously identified an opportunity within nightlife, which frequently relies upon "promoter" systems. These businesses typically distribute physical VIP cards to a select groupw ith large networks, who then share these cards to drive attendance in exchange for discounts. CLIQInvite could be seamlessly repurposed into a digital version of this system.

When I suggested this transition, one of our interns pointed out while the nightlife industry has significant potential, there are more applications than just the promoter system. Nightlife employees have the expertise to handle ID verification, drink tickets, and prepaid bar tabs, but those who rent out these locations do not. However, when we conducted a bit of research, we found out that this is actually a non-issue, as bars and clubs typically retain on-site staff during rentals. While conducting this research, though, we realized that private event venue rentals had major gaps on both the supply- and demand-side, and EZVenues is our attempt to address those.
